I finally continued working on my poker card deck within the last days and revised some cards. Thereby I also did a small test print to see how the cards look like from a small distance, on a table and things like that. Unfortunately the numbers are a bit too small, so recognizing them in a fast game and / or with darker light may be a bit tricky. Therefore all cards that are already finished will get bigger numbers / letters. With that being changed, “Usability” should be perfect

Beside of that, Jack, Queen and King will be completely revised:

This is a preview of the current versions of the new Jack und King cards. While “Jack” is final by now, the “King” ist still a work in progress and will get some more details here and there. Here’s a closerlook:

Some character sketches:

I will try to finish the card deck within the next weeks, but there’s still much that has to be done and time is rare.

So here’s a first look at the card deck I’m currently working on.

Until now, I’m almost finished with the first 13 cards including the numbers 2-10 and Jack, Queen, King and Ace.

Numbers 2 to 10 are actually kept quite simple, as it’s very important to me that you can actually play with these cards without any difficulties in recognizing them. So in general they look like the cards in every other poker or skat set you are used to. Nevertheless, there are some small details that still makes every card unique.

Therefore the other ones, especially Jack, Queen and King are quite different from normal game-cards:

[Jack]

[Queen]

[King]

More details soon.

I recently ordered one of those StickerBooks over at moo.com. Read on for details…

The StickerBook itself is of great quality. The first sheet comes with some stickers from moo.com as you can see on the image above. Behind are 15 sheets with 6 stickers each, which makes a total of 90 stickers. Best of all is, that you could upload 90 different designs at a time and get a StickerBook with 90 different stickers. They call that “Printfinity” or something… That’s quite cool as I haven’t seen any other service that allows you to print that way – for a great price (and a small print run).

When you place your order, you can customize the packaging, choose a different color and things like that.

All stickers have a glossy finish. I’ve created 6 different designs – I probably should have put a bit more time and effort into it and make make some more, but as I justed wanted to test it out, it’s all fine.

I will definitely make some more layouts in the near future. They are great to give away to friends or just to tag something.

So even if that may read like a sponsored post or something, trust me, it is not If you like stickers, you should definitely give “StickerBooks” a try:

http://www.moo.com

One last thing: The price is about 8 Euro for one StickerBook, that’s a fair price and delivery to Germany took about 12 days.

I’ll make some changes to my blog within the next days. The footer finally needs some content, a search field is still missing and the sidebar looks a bit empty by now. There are still a lot of things to do around here…
